Allan Hopkins


Allan graduated with a Communications degree from Simon Fraser University and a minor degree in Film and Video studies from the SFU School of Contemporary Arts. He worked as a field producer and then as the senior producer on the long running CTV BellMedia current events series, First Story. While at CTV he won numerous awards including; the 2014 Jack Webster award for Best Television News Feature, the 2013, Radio and Television News Director’s Adrian Clarkson Diversity Award, the 2008 AccolAIDS award for recognition in achievements in media from Living Positively BC, and was a 2008 Gold Ribbon Finalist in Aboriginal Programming, from the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. Allan has been an instructor of documentary production, scriptwriting and of short fiction. Recently Allan has turned his creative efforts to writing and directing scripted material. Filmed in May and June of 2017, Indian Road Trip is his first feature film. The film was funded by the Telefilm Micro-Budget Program and is now in post production. He is currently in pre-production on a short film called, “Shin-chi’s Canoe.” This film will go to camera in November 2017 and be released in Spring 2018. Allan is a member of the N’Quatqua First Nation, located on Lill’wat traditional territory. .

Andrew Currie

Executive Producer

Andrew Currie is a Writer, Director and Producer. Andrew was a founding partner in Anagram Pictures (MILE ZERO, ELIJAH,THE DELICATE ART OF PARKING, FIDO.) He graduated with a film degree from Simon Fraser University, and completed the Director’s residency at the Canadian Film Centre in 1997. After a series of award-winning shorts, he made the critically acclaimed drama MILE ZERO, (2001) winning awards around the world. He then directed and co-wrote the popular and subversive zombie comedy, FIDO (Lionsgate) starring Carrie Anne Moss, Billy Connolly and Tim Blake Nelson. As a feature film producer Andrew’s credits include THE DELICATE ART OF PARKING and most recently LAWRENCE & HOLLOMAN, which won Best Comedy Feature at the 2014 Canadian Comedy Awards. Andrew has just produced and directed his latest feature THE STEPS a comedy/drama written by Robyn Harding and starring an amazing cast: Jason Ritter, James Brolin, Christine Lahti, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Vinay Virmani, Steven McCarthy, Kate Corbett, and Benjamin Arthur.

Vincent De Paula, CSC

Director Of Photography

Vincent De Paula is a cinematographer with a great deal of experience shooting features, TV series and commercials all around the world. Originally from Spain, Vincent moved abroad at a young age to pursue a career as a cinematographer and found himself living between Los Angeles and London, where he rapidly became a cinematographer working on commercials and drama. Having also worked on numerous documentaries in the UK and Spain, this experience allowed him to make use and understand the qualities of natural lighting and how to best utilize it in a dramatic fashion. Now an accomplished cinematographer, Vincent is a full member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers and IATSE 669. Considered by many as one of the most talented cinematographers of his generation his work has been seen in many countries and covered in magazines such as the prestigious American Cinematographer and Canadian Cinematographer.

Doreen Manuel

Production Manager

Doreen Manuel (Secwepemc/Ktunaxa) is the production manager for Indian Road Trip. Doreen has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Film Production from UBC. She is an award-winning documentary and fiction film writer and director as well as a producer. She has been the program coordinator of the Capilano University Indigenous Independent Digital Filmmaking Program for the last 11 years; and is the sole owner of Running Wolf Productions.

Lynne Bennett

Digital Content Specialist

Lynne Bennett is the Digital Media Specialist Producer for Indian Road Trip. With over 15 years of editing and digital content creation, Lynne has specialized in the casino and gaming industry before diving into television media. Recently she worked as the Digital Content Producer for the APTN Television series Tribal Police Files. Other projects include A New Economy and her latest Fierce Girls webseries. Lynne has also created numerous social media campaigns for small and large companies, keeping up with new and trending strategies. Passionate about creating online communities to engage and bring new project to the digital light, Lynne continues to strive to do so with new and upcoming projects.
